That’s basically telling me to check literally everything possible. That literally tells me nothing about the error. Just tells me to check my SMTP settings, contact mail provider, or host. When I go to send a test email under the Test Email tab of WP Mail SMTP plugin, I get an error. SMTP Password: I have that set in the wp-config.php file SMTP Usernamt: My protonmail email address address) Under Other SMTP I have the following settings:Įncryption: SSL (I have also tried TLS instead of SSL) I entered the following information into WP Mail SMTP:įrom Email: My email address, which is my domain for my paid ProtonMail account. I then went to enter the settings for my mail service. So, I downloaded the plugin, installed it, and activated it. Per HostGator, they have strict security and prohibit the use of the WP Mailer on it’s own and suggested I use this plugin to get my WPForms contact form to send. I have my WordPress website hosted on HostGator.
